ACE is the place!

Are you craving a DragonCon fix? Well we’ve got your answer…
DragonCon proudly presents Atlanta Comics Expo!

Atlanta Comics Expo (ACE) takes place February 8-10, 2008 at the Atlanta Sheraton Hotel, and this year the show kicks into high gear with features and events quite unlike the typical comic book show. With a stunning lounge, casual seating throughout the common areas, Mardis Gras-style décor, and free WiFi in the hotel lobby areas…the gorgeous Atlanta Sheraton is the ideal location for a fan driven event like this!

ACE is a three-day celebration of comics and the visual arts, with programs and events designed to immerse fans and collectors into the exciting world of comics and pop culture. Be it graphic fiction, art prints, designer toys, Asian animation, films or costuming…ACE has something for every fan. Oh, and let’s not forget gaming…HeroClix anyone?? Think of it as a taste of DragonCon…with all the fun, costumes and entertainment but without the long waits at the elevators!

ACE is proud to present a stellar roster of guests from the comic and pop art world. Included in the 2008 lineup are Eric Powell, Andy Runton, Mike Kunkel, Ragnar, Ethan Van Sciver, Joseph Michael Linsner, David Mack, Mark Brooks, Bob Schreck, Sket One and Special Guest Michael Golden to name just a few. Creators will be on hand for autographing, sketching, panel presentations and portfolio reviews. A huge dealer hall will be open so you can find that elusive comic or collectible to finish off your collection. Attendees who pre-register will receive one of several exclusive Atlanta Comics Expo prints, featuring art by Michael Golden, Eric Pigors, or Georgia comics legend, Jack Davis!

Fans of designer toys will be thrilled to hear that ACE is holding a fundraiser to benefit RIF (Reading is Fundamental). Several creators will be customizing blank Munnys to be auctioned off with proceeds donated to RIF . Kid Robot’s own Toy Baroness will be on hand to help promote this very important and visually stunning charity event.

In addition to a full roster of daytime programming, ACE attendees will have access to a bevy of evening entertainment, as well. Friday evening will feature the Haunted Luau party (think of it as Halloween in February with a Polynesian twist), with live music from The Cemetery Surfers, creepy contests, ghoulish games, and exclusive event posters. Saturday evening includes another party in the beautiful hotel ballroom, with music, cash bar, and the exciting debut of a new project from “Herobear and the Kid” creator Mike Kunkel; DJ Spider will be spinning her way into the night throughout the weekend.

And as a special offer, attendees who book a room at the Sheraton by Sunday, January 13, 2008 will receive a FREE 3-day ACE Membership for each night booked (Limit 3 Free Memberships). You must be sure to mention Atlanta Comics Expo when you book your room in order to get your free membership(s) and to get the discounted ACE room rate. Free memberships must be picked up in person at ACE guest registration by the individual who reserved the hotel room.

We hope to see you at ATLANTA COMICS EXPO!
